Disclaimer: The product description below describes the historical and spiritual uses of this botanical product within its native origin.
Maca, or Lepidium meyenii, is a plant that has traditionally been used by the ancient Peruvian Incas as a medicine with multiple purposes. It was particularly used before battles by warriors because of its reputation for enhancing energy levels which caused their warriors to have greater stamina and ferocity. It had also been said to enhance fertility and libido and was traditionally used by menopausal women to counter negative symptoms. While mostly used by warriors and nobility, it was also often used as currency and traded with other peoples, including the Spanish, when they arrived in South America.
